China VIM Vacuum Induction Melting Furnace with Energy-Saving Heating System - Top Suppliers and Factory Solutions

Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) is an advanced metal melting process employing electromagnetic induction in a vacuum environment. Within this process, an induction furnace, equipped with a refractory-lined crucible and surrounded by an induction coil, is precisely located inside a vacuum chamber. This furnace is powered by a source that operates at a frequency tailored to the specific size and material being melted, ensuring optimal performance.

,

During the VIM process, materials are introduced into the induction furnace under vacuum conditions, and power is applied to induce melting. Additional material charges can be added to achieve the desired volume of molten metal. The refinement of the molten metal occurs under vacuum, allowing for comprehensive adjustments to the chemistry until the target specifications are reached. Impurities are effectively removed through various mechanisms, including chemical reactions, disassociation, flotation, and volatilization. Once the precise melt chemistry is attained, a preheated tundish is inserted through a valve-controlled hot tundish insertion lock, positioned in front of the induction furnace, enabling the transfer of molten metal into the designated molds.

,

The VIM process is critically utilized to produce high-performance alloys, including superalloys, stainless steels, magnetic and battery alloys, electronic alloys, and other high-value materials. As a leading manufacturer and supplier in China, our factory specializes in delivering top-quality VIM solutions tailored to meet the requirements of demanding applications.
