China VIM Vacuum Induction Melting Furnace with Energy-Saving Heating System - Trusted Suppliers & Factory

Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) is an advanced technique for melting metals, utilizing electromagnetic induction within a vacuum environment. In this process, a refractory-lined crucible is housed in an induction furnace surrounded by an induction coil, all located within a vacuum chamber. The induction furnace operates on a power source specifically tuned to the frequency that correlates with the size of the furnace and the type of material being melted.

,

During the VIM process, materials are charged into the induction furnace under vacuum conditions, and power is applied to effectively melt the charge. Additional material may be added to achieve the desired volume of molten metal. The molten metal undergoes refinement in a vacuum atmosphere, with adjustments made to its chemical composition until the specific melt chemistry is reached. Impurities are effectively eliminated through various mechanisms such as chemical reactions, disassociation, flotation, and volatilization. Once the optimal melt chemistry is achieved, a preheated tundish is inserted through a specialized hot tundish insertion lock. This refractory tundish is positioned in front of the induction furnace, allowing the molten metal to be poured into molds with precision.

,

VIM is an essential process for producing high-value alloys such as superalloys, stainless steels, magnetic and battery alloys, and electronic alloys. As a leading China supplier and factory for VIM technology, we are dedicated to providing top-quality solutions for demanding metallurgical applications.
