Energy-Saving VIM Vacuum Induction Melting Furnace from China Suppliers | Advanced Factory Technology

Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) is an advanced metal melting technique conducted under vacuum using electromagnetic induction. The process takes place in a sophisticated induction furnace, which features a refractory-lined crucible surrounded by an induction coil, all housed within a vacuum chamber. This induction furnace is connected to a power source that operates at a frequency tailored to the furnace's size and the specific material being melted, ensuring optimal performance.

,

During the VIM process, materials are charged into the induction furnace under vacuum conditions, and power is applied to melt the metal charge. To achieve the desired volume of molten metal, additional charges are introduced as necessary. The molten metal undergoes refinement under vacuum, with careful adjustments to its chemistry until the exact composition is achieved. Impurities are effectively eliminated through a variety of methods, including chemical reactions, disassociation, flotation, and volatilization. Once the optimal melt chemistry is reached, a preheated tundish is inserted through a specialized valve mechanism to facilitate hot tundish insertion. This refractory tundish, positioned in front of the induction furnace, allows for the controlled pouring of molten metal into the molds awaiting formation.

,

The VIM process is especially renowned for manufacturing high-value alloys, including superalloys, stainless steels, magnetic and battery alloys, and electronic alloys. As a leading supplier in this field, our factory in China is dedicated to providing top-quality VIM solutions that meet the stringent demands of various industries.
